MEDIA SPOTLIGHT: TAVOLATO VENETO in LUXE INTERIORS + DESIGN | MARK OF THE MAKER
MARK OF THE MAKER: TAVOLATO VENETO
Generations of Italian design and wood making come to life in the solid- and engineered-wood floors from Tavolato Veneto, the Italian manufacturer regarded for its high-quality flooring handcrafted in centuries-old Venetian tradition. Planks, boards, geometrical or artistic inlays, Tavolato Veneto floors are assembled with the same passion and care as when the company was founded 85 years ago. Made entirely in Italy and distributed to the Los Angeles area through Design Hardware, Tavolato Veneto sources the best woods and the best finishes in the industry. “Every product we use is green and natural. The staining process is done under strict, laboratory-like conditions to enhance the characteristics of each species,” says Matteo Castiglione, Tavolato’s U.S. representative. “Each board is unique and finished under the expert eye of the artist who applies differing amounts of finish to bring out its innate beauty. The drying process is unhurried, allowing the stain to penetrate naturally. Oil or varnish surface options are the finishing touch.”
“Precision in all aspects of the woodworking process results in beautifully finished works of art.”
The Health + Heritage Of Italian Woodworking
The art of sawing, cutting, shaping, gluing and finishing wood has been a part of the DNA of Tavolato Veneto and the artisan manufacturers in the Veneto region of Italy for generations. Full respect for consumers’ health and the environment is guaranteed by using class D4, formaldehyde-free glue, while natural oils ensure that toxic substances are neither emitted before nor after laying the flooring. Water-based varnishes with a low impact on the environment complete our eco-sustainable production cycle. The CE Conformity Certification and the fireproof classification (in the highest possible class, Bfl-s1) are additional steps toward the achievement of high quality and safety for all.
Defining Authenticity In Design
Stained.
Our process of staining wood, using a reactive stain, enables the richness of the wood to rise to the surface for a most elegant effect.
Varnished.
Our varnish finishes create a very natural look with low to no maintenance. In many cases, we offer the varnish and oil in the same color. The main difference between the two is that the varnish offers more gloss, while the oil is more matte.
Naturally Dried.
All of our wood is naturally dried— meaning it is air-dried, not chemically dried—enhancing the natural accents and characteristics of the wood.
